MIED Request Information
SPARK is distributing Pfizer-donated laboratory consumables.
Distribution of these consumables will be based on applicants meeting the following criteria:
-
Any incorporated Michigan life sciences company
with demonstrated or pending capitalization (i.e., SBIR/STTR grants, VC
or angel funding, 21st Century Jobs Fund grant, etc.) and wet lab space
-
Start up or early stage
-
Must have a SmartZone certificate of eligibility
Eligible companies may access these items by following these steps:
-
Contact your local SmartZone
and ask for a Certificate of Eligibility. The SmartZone is
responsible for validating that the company meets the criteria for
eligibility. The certificate serves as a passport to the
warehouse.
-
Come to the warehouse during the designated hours on the designated days it is open.
-
Show the certificate to MIED personnel and pay a $50 administrative/participation fee.
-
Take items and quantities actually needed.
The honor system will be applied with the spirit of the program being:
• companies do not take more than they really need, (year supply) • leave items for others with equal need. - MIED personnel may restrict the quantities collected by any one company at the time of collection.
-
Company will fill out a receipt form listing all
items taken, sign it and have an MIED representative also sign it upon
leaving.
Since more consumable items may be contributed to the program,
companies will have the ability to return to the warehouse to collect
more items if needed as long as supplies last. Companies may only
take advantage of this opportunity once a month.
An inventory of items will not be maintained or made available.
For more information, contact Skip Simms - Skip@AnnArborUSA.org.
Through a unique collaboration, previously used equipment is available
to qualified life sciences companies throughout the state.
The
Michigan Innovation Equipment Depot (MIED) program was developed by
Pfizer Global Research and Development in conjunction with Ann Arbor
SPARK, MichBio, and Michigan's SmartZones™. The mission of the MIED
program is to provide life science start-up companies throughout
Michigan with equipment resources to further their growth.
